In elementary my passion for hair was brought to life when my mom allowed me to braid my younger sister's hair. Two years later, I had my first client, and by the age of 16, I was working as an intern/receptionist in a salon while attending cosmetology school! I knew I was on my way to accomplishing my dreams until the funding was cut from the program I was in a month before I graduated. I ventured off, trying other things but never fully letting go of my passion for hair! Finally at 25 I moved to Los Angeles CA, and got my cosmetology license. My journey continued as I began to work in all things hair including businesses like Comoprof, the Hair Shop, Dream Girls salon and The Hair Pin House of DTLA. Now I have taken all the knowledge I’ve collected on my journey and applied it to my own business Hair By Laurese, where ambition meets style.
